#NAP – LEGENDARY RHYTHM (2.25 Leicester) – Low-quality chase here, but this six-year-old looks interesting off the same mark as when beaten just over two-lengths over 2m at this course the last day. That came on her first start after wind surgery, so she’s entitled to come on for that outing, and the step back up in trip looks likely to suit this mare, being a daughter of Midnight Legend. She has only recorded the one win in her career so far, but that did come off this mark of 89 in a handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter back in March of last year, so she’s handicapped to win again. I liked the way she jumped and travelled here the last day, when possibly getting outpaced in between the third and second last, before keeping on up the run-in. If she’s to improve on this second start after her operation, then I’d be hopeful that she’ll be seriously involved off a tempting mark. (9/2) – Bet365 – 1pt – Lost (-1)

#IWAC – FINAL REMINDER (3.50 Catterick) – There’s a couple at the head of the market who look to hold strong claims in this, last-time out winner Schalke, as well as the front-running Lady Bowes, are both worthy of their current odds. However, I’m taking a bit of a punt on one at the bottom of the betting, Final Reminder. She comes with risks attached though, having refused to race the last day at Carlisle (class 3 – 0-130), in a race that looks good on paper with a subsequent winner and a close fourth to come out of it since. She won over a furlong shorter at Ayr last May, off a 5lb lower mark, before going down by a length-and-a-half off this revised mark of 110 at Cartmel less than a month later. Connections have clearly been waiting for the ground to dry out a bit, having withdrawn her the last twice on account of soft/heavy ground, and I feel her price is this big only because of the uncertainty about whether she’ll jump off this time. There’s always a risk when backing horses with a tendency to not start, but if she does then I think she has each-way claims, with Sky Bet offering four places.
