Friday 18th June:
#NAP – PRETTY GORGEOUS (4.20 Ascot) – This filly is very talented and showed this in her two-year-old campaign when winning a Group 2 at The Curragh, went down by just under a length in a Group 1 at the same course before ending the season with a Group 1 success at Newmarket (a few of today’s rivals in behind). That came on soft ground and she looked as though she needed the run on her reappearance run in the irish 1000 Guineas on heavy ground having travelled well into the race before just not quite going through with her challenge and emptied into seventh. She should come on for that return and I’d be expecting her to go close here with forecast rain a plus and the booking of Frankie Dettori a noticeable one. (5/1) – Paddy Power – 1pt
#IWAC – TEODOLINA (5.00 Ascot) – Only scored once in six starts in her first season, that came in a novice event at Haydock when scoring by just over four-lengths on soft ground and her form has improved so far in her two starts this term. She won on return over C&D off a mark of 84, on good-to-soft ground and the last day she was a respectable third in a class 2 handicap at Haydock off this new mark of 90, on heavy ground. She’s still capable of being competitive off this mark I feel, conditions should be easing overnight so she should have her ground and hopefully the race will open up for her coming off the pace, she could be overpriced in a very open handicap, each-way terms mostly six with one firm going seven places. (30/1) – Paddy Power – 0.5pt ew (6 places)
