Tuesday 8th June:

#NAP – RENWICK (1.25 Southwell) – Lightly-race eight-year-old who was a fair second the last day at Uttoxeter, beaten five-lengths off this mark of 110 in a slightly stronger race than this. His two career wins have come on good ground over the middle distance of around 2m4f and though this race is over the extended 3m he has twice finishbed second over the trip (including last time out) and with this being an easier assignment on paper I think he should be going close if showing his best form for a trainer whose horses have been running well of late. He’s yet to win over the larger obstacles but one of his wins came off a 3lb higher mark over hurdles so on that evidence he’s looking well-handicapped as well (and he’s rated 10lb higher in that sphere).
