Thursday 13th May:

#NB – BEN LILY (4.50 York) – This four-year-old has been in fine fettle over the past nine months having won no less than seven times, with two of those already coming this season. Six of those wins have come over 1m6f and his most recent was over this extended 2m trip at Doncaster when he won with plenty in hand. He’s only 5lb higher here and arrives on the back of another solid effort when a staying-on third (beaten just under a length) at Hamilton off this mark and the horse who finished second has subsequently finished third in the Chester Cup. The step back up in trip looks a good move and I still believe there’s a victory in him off this mark of 92 with Kevin Stott again doing the steering (has won all seven races on him and was aboard the last day so clearly has a fantastic relationship with the gelding). (9/2) – BetVictor – 1ptLost (-1)

#NAP – SERENA’S QUEEN (5.00 Newmarket) – This filly has won two of her three career starts to date, the loss coming on debut back in December. She won at Chelmsford in novice company when the re-opposing Puy Mary was held back in fourth and though 6lb better off here I feel the form will be confirmed. The last day saw her land another novice at Salisbury this time, when dropped back to 7f for the first time and stepping back up to a mile will be in her favour, she should also come on for that reappearance and makes her handicap debut off a mark of just 75, which could underestimate her providing she handles this softer ground. (4/1) – Bet365 – 1ptLost (-1)

Stake: 2pts

May P/L: +7.83pts

Overall P/L (Sept ’17-present): +595.61pts
