Saturday 1st May:

#NAP – CHIL CHIL (4.15 Newmarket) – This mare has been raised 4lb since a neck defeat over C&D a couple of weeks ago which now puts her on a career high mark but if she’s to come forward from that seasonal reappearance then she might just go one better for Andrew Balding here. She won on her only other visit to this course, again over the same trip, the ground conditions will be fine and I think she’ll be good enough to reverse the form with Count Otto on a pound better terms if able to get a clear passage having had to switch wide inside the latter stages the last day. (9/2) – Sky Bet – 1ptWON (+5.5)

#NB – CROSSFORD (5.25 Newmarket) – He was third on his first two starts before gaining success over 7f in his two-year old campaign, in a novice on the tapeat up at Newcastle and on his seasonal/handicap debut in the middle of April this colt ran well for a staying-on second off a 3lb lower mark over C&D, stepping up to a mile for the first time. He was still very green in that race so hopefully will have learnt more from that experience and if so then I’d like to think he’ll have a good chance of getting his head back in front here, despite it looking a tricky little contest. Ryan Moore keeps the ride having been on board last time out and Charles Hills saddled the winner of this the last time the race was run back in 2019. (7/2) – Sky Bet – 1pt WON (+4.5)

Stake: 2pts

May P/L: 0pts

Overall P/L (Sept ’17-present): +587.78pts
