#IWAC – FLEGMATIK (1.50 Ayr) – Had spent his career running over shorter trips until the last day when trying the 3m trip for the first time on soft ground at Uttoxeter and he certainly got the trip despite finishing fourth by just under four-lengths. He made a shuddering error three out and did very well to recover and kept galloping through the line, so off the same mark here on this sounder surface I think with a clear round he’s got a chance for the Skelton’s with him only 2lb above his last winning mark and also went close off this rating in a Wetherby handicap two winters ago. It’s an open race so with four and five places on offer he’s an each-way bet. (8/1) – BetVictor – 0.5pt ew (4 places) – Lost (-1)

#NAP – ROB THE GETAWAY (1.57 Stratford) – His only win under rules came on his sole point start and though unable to get his head in front over fences in six starts this multiple point winner looks to have a good opportunity this afternoon. He has ran respectably in three handicap starts so far (2-2-3) and he’s been eased a pound since his last two runs, the most recent came in a 0-120 when beaten only six-lengths so this drop into a 0-110 should suit and despite having to carry top-weight he has conditions to suit and I’m hoping he can open his account in this discipline.
