Wednesday 14th April:
#NB – THE BIG BITE (2.05 Cheltenham) – He’s a fairly consistent eight-year old, who since moving yards from Tom George to Henry Oliver, has posted three solid efforts. He won on stable debut back in November at Aintree off a 10lb lower mark before finishing a not beaten far second behind Ibleo (rated 157 now) who has some nice form in the book this season. This gelding was last seen finishing third in a Grade 3 Handicap at Newbury over a similar trip to this, beaten just over two-lengths and despite up a further 3lb he could well return to the winners enclosure if in a similar mood with ground to suit. (9/2) – Bet365 – 1pt – Lost (-1)
#NAP – OSKI (3.15 Cheltenham) – Has been in good form this season so far, a winner the last day at Uttoxeter by three-and-a-quarter-lengths and the assessor has only nudged him up 4lb which might be lenient. He takes a step up from 2m4f to the extended 3m1f which shouldn’t be a problem for this son of Oscar who was a winner over a furlong shorter over hurdles three years ago, Max Kendrick takes off a handy 3lb again with his claim and he represents local-trainer Fergal O’Brien who remains in good form (26% strike-rate) and would love to have a winner or two at this meeting. This looks a wannabe race for him off his current rating. (4/1) – Bet365 – 1pt – Lost (-1)
