Tuesday 13th April:
#IWAC – ESPINATOR (3.30 Newton Abbot) – This seven-year old is a seven-race maiden so far but has shown glimpses that he should be able to be competitive off a mark of 87 in this grade. He was a fair fifth in a novice event at Uttoxeter back in October, the winner Wilde About Oscar now rated 150 & the second is 130. His first couple of handicap starts weren’t as good but the last day was much better when weakening into fourth over 2m7f when travelling well into the race until about three furlongs from home. That came on good ground which he’ll get here and the slight drop in trip should suit the gelding, as well as the drop in grade. Kevin Brogan takes the ride which looks a good booking in this conditional jockeys’ race and hopefully he can outrun his double figure odds, each-way terms mostly four places with one bookmaker going five places. (10/1) – Sky Bet – 0.5pt ew (5 places) – 2nd (+1.35)
