Thursday 1st April:

#NAP – WHITE TURF (1.30 Uttoxeter) – A 15-race maiden but his latest run suggested that his first win might be just round the corner. He was staying-on well from off the pace at Stratford a fortnight ago and the handicapper has left him alone for a five-and-a-half length defeat that day on good-to-soft ground. This better ground could be what’s needed to find that extra bit of improvement and a mark of 82 is surely within this six-year-old’s grasp. He ran well for sixth in a ‘jumpers bumper’ at Kempton with that race producing numerous winners since and if able to improve on that last outing then I’d be disappointed if he wasn’t involved in the finish. (11/2) – Betfred – 1pt 3rd (-1)

#IWAC – COILLTE EILE (5.10 Ffos Las) – This mare has been showing glimpses of form this season with her best effort coming on return to action in a class 3 at Ascot when just over five-lengths back in third behind an improver in Robin Gold (the second has won twice since too). Her last win came back in November 2019 (in that same race where she was third) and that came off a mark of 109, she now runs off 105 and drops into class 4 company. We’ve seen her mostly on soft/heavy ground but she’s 1/1 on good-to-soft so this drying ground isn’t a concern and with Liam Harrison taking off 7lb with his claim I think she might be a good each-way bet at the least with four places on offer with a few bookmakers. (9/1) – Betfred – 0.5pt ewLost (-1)

Stake: 2pts
