Thursday 25th March:
#NAP – DANCING SHADOW (2.07 Chepstow) – Despite being a twelve-year-old, this gelding is clearly still in good heart based on his three runs this season. He was beaten here over a shorter trip by a short-head off only a pound lower mark back in October before going down by a length off this mark at Exeter over this extended 3m6f trip in December. The last day he was midfield (beaten nine-lengths) but the form of that has taken a few boosts since and dropping a pound for that back on good ground could see this dour-stayer return to the winners enclosure. The worry is that he’s only won three times in his 40 career starts and unsuccessful in just over three years, but he’s won off a 9lb higher mark as well as this one of 122 and he’s dropping into class 4 company for the first time in three years. Ben Godfrey claims a handy 5lb and we know this horse stays the trip which can’t be guaranteed for the other runners. (7/2) – Bet365 – 1pt – Lost (-1)
