Wednesday 24th March:
#NAP – EY UP ROCKY (2.02 Haydock) – This very lightly-raced eight-year old has had problems in recent times and returned from a 726-day absence with a promising third at Ludlow, when finishing just behind the re-opposing Star Of Rory on the same terms. He travelled best into that race before his fitness found him out but providing he doesn’t suffer from the bounce factor here then I think he’s got a great chance now stepping back up in trip. Before his setback he won over 2m4f at Newbury off a 10lb lower mark and it’s also worth noting that at the beginning of that campaign he was three-lengths behind future Champion Hurdle winner Epatante in a Kempton novice event, so he’s clearly a talented horse and this mark of 127 should be within his reach if showing his best form with the drying ground a positive.
