Wednesday 24th February:

#NB – ROCKY’S TREASURE (3.30 Doncaster) – There’s no denying this horse is inconsistent with form figures P-P-U-9-1-P in his last six starts but he seems to come alive at this course having gained two C&D wins as well as a hurdles success over the extended 3m. One of those wins came on his penultimate start when getting the better of Give Me A Copper by half-a-length (pair clear of the rest) and though 5lb higher here I think the switch to a veterans race could see him go well again & adding to that the recent form of Kim Bailey (46% strike-rate in the past fortnight). If on a going day he’s got to be in the thick of things. (9/2) – Bet365 – 1ptLost (-1)

#NAP – ASHFIELD PADDY (4.05 Doncaster) – After two underwhelming runs over fences Jonjo O’Neill decided to revert this seven-year-old back over hurdles where he finished a staying-on third over 2m5f behind a horse in Brinkley who has since gone in again. This step back up to 3m will suit better having won at both Exeter and Haydock over 2m7f on soft/heavy ground previously. He’s 6lb higher than for the latest of those wins and now tackles a surface with ‘good’ in the description for the first time under rules but he did win a good ground point-to-point and Kevin Brogan claims a handy 5lb, I think he’s got a great chance here. (6/1) – Bet365 – 1pt3rd (-1)

Stake: 2pts

February P/L: -1.8pts

Overall P/L (Sept ’17-present): +573.15pts
