Saturday 23rd January:

#NB – PYRAMID PLACE (1.35 Taunton) – Ex-John Gosden flat horse, this four-year old was beaten a short-head on hurdling debut but gained compensation when scoring next time out at Bangor in soft ground in a main hurdle. His only start this season came in Chepstow Grade 1 Juvenile hurdle won by the exciting Adagio where he was ridden out the back and never got into the race at 100/1. Now in handicap company I’d expect a better show especially off a mark of 104, Paddy Brennan is a good booking and if ridden closer to the pace I’d be shocked if he’s not seriously involved in conditions that he’s shown to handle so far. (7/2) – Bet365 – 1ptWON (+4.5)

#NAP – AMOUR DE NUIT (2.45 Taunton) – Has been in good form in three starts this season. Won on return to action off 5lb lower before going down by just under two-lengths in second next time out in a good handicap at Newbury. The last day saw him not stay the 2m5f trip in the listed Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton when weakening into fifth so this drop down to 2m3f will suit and though his best form is on better ground he won on soft ground on reappearance this season and Angela Cheleda claims what could be a valuable 7lb. (7/2) – Bet365 – 1ptLost (-1)

Stake: 2pts

January P/L: -5.5pts

Overall P/L (Sept ’17-present): +572.95pts
