Thursday 19th November:
#NAP – BUCKHORN GEORGE (1.40 Wincanton) – This grey ran a couple of nice races last year in maiden/novice events behind some talented individuals, three of which rated 145 and above now. He ended his first campaign with a C&D success in soft ground when battling back well once headed having wandered after the last having looked lonely out in front. He returned to action making his handicap debut at Plumpton off a mark of 124 and was only beaten three-quarters-of-a-length in second (pulling eight-lengths clear of the third), now only a pound higher I’d expect more improvement from this five-year old with Robbie Power back doing the steering – (10/3) – Bet Victor – 1pt – Lost (-1)
#IWAC – RAASHDY (3.03 Market Rasen) – Six times a winner on the level though only has the one success to his name over hurdles which came in a novice at Hexham last September. He is now becoming well handicapped though judged on his third at Newcastle on soft ground back in January off a mark 14lb higher than he runs off now. His latest third in a claimer was a good run behind a horse rated 126 and if able to show anywhere near his best form then off this mark of 101 he looks overpriced with Alice Stevens also taking 7lb off his back with her claim – (10/1) – Bet365 – 0.5pt ew – Lost (-1)
