The #Nap didn’t run well on Thursday and my other two selections were both non-runners. Ayr has yet again been called off which is a big shame for them, hopefully they can get the go ahead for Saturday. Anyway, here are my three for Friday, all running at Newbury.

Friday 22nd September:

#NAP – WILD HACKED (2.55 Newbury) – Has been running pretty well this year, after a win & second in handicaps in April this colt probably found the trip too far in the Northumberland Plate when ninth. Back at 1m4f most recently he was a sound third in a Group 3 on the all-weather. He’s 3lbs better off with Danehill Kodiac in this and goes on any ground. Big chance. (5/1) – Bet365 – 5pt – Lost

#NB – SECOND THOUGHT (4.00 Newbury) – Not usually one for tipping a shorter priced favourite with 10+ runners but the form of his last run can’t be ignored and comes here off a break. He was beaten 4.5 lengths in second by Harry Angel who has since won two Group 1’s and also finished second in one, now rated 125. All his four wins have been on the all-weather but if transferring that form to turf he should go very close. (3/1) – Bet365 – 3pt – Lost

#IWAC – RED ROMAN (2.25 Newbury) – This two-year old won well at Goodwood on his penultimate start and followed that up with a respectable fifth at York last time. He struggled at 7f at first attempt but that was on a sharp surface so the easier ground and drop in class should aid his cause here. (13/2) – Stan James – 1pt ew – Placed

Stake: 10pts

P/L: +37.7pts
